The Foundation Stage
A quality start to the learning journey
“Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential.” EYFS Statutory Guidance
What is the Early Years Foundation Stage?
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept healthy and safe.
Indoor and outdoor play is essential for young children to enable them to explore and discover. We actively encourage children to engage in key learning experiences, both in indoor and outdoor environments.
What we provide
We provide high quality integrated education and care for children from three up until the end of their reception year.
In our Nursery, we offer morning sessions (8:45am-11:45am) and we also offer 30 hour places (8:45am-3:00pm). If you are interested, please ring us on 0151 928 4544 to arrange a visit for you and your child to come and look around our wonderful Nursery. We look forward to meeting you soon!
Litherland Moss Foundation Stage
Based at Litherland Moss Primary School we provide a quality start to each child’s learning journey. From the very first day your child starts with us, we encourage independence, positive relationships, and self-confidence. The EYFS team are here to support children and their families at this exciting start to school life.
Children’s starting points are quickly recognised and children are able to make strong progress from their baseline assessments, ensuring that every child’s individual needs are met.
We are very lucky at Litherland Moss to have such a light and spacious indoor and outdoor environment. The outdoor environment will continue to be an imperative part of the day-to-day practice in the EYFS. We ensure that the outdoor environment is diverse, and exciting and offers all children the chance to learn, thrive and provide a sense of challenge
